The Mansion at Sundridge Park
Conversion of a Grade 1 Listed building to create 22 apartments for open market sale
Client:
City & Country plc
Sundridge Park Mansion is a beautifully restored Grade I Listed mansion house situated in Bromley, London. The Mansion was originally designed by the eminent architect Sir John Nash in the 18th Century, with its surrounding estate and gardens planned by the acclaimed landscape designer Humphry Repton.
The building layout is constructed around a large central staircase and atrium, across two storeys with additional accommodation in the roof and basement areas.
The construction of the building is of traditional form, comprising masonry walls to the external and internal walls. The floors are constructed from solid timber beams in turn supporting smaller intermediate timber joists. The roof structure comprises solid timber joists and rafters spanning between load bearing walls. The roofs are a combination of pitched and flat roofs with either slate, lead or zinc coverings all of which appear to have been replaced within the last ten years and appear to be in excellent condition.
The mansion was transformed into 22 luxury apartments by City & Country and is set within a sweeping landscape of sculptured gardens and woodland walks, the peaceful green setting of almost 300 acres, including the famous Sundridge Park Golf Club providing residents with the perfect balance of rural living and city life with swift links into central London.
