Is that a modern method I see before me? Well it’s probably not terribly “modern” at all, it’s probably using an established technique or product in a different way or maybe it is a unique and innovative solution to a particular problem. In any case, non-standard construction techniques (or MMC as they’re probably known) spark our interest and we will work with you and your client to help translate a product or system into an insurable risk.
Type Approval is something we like to get involved with so that clients with standard housetype portfolios can have the design assessed robustly and guarantee future acceptance which will cut down the time it takes to get from design to construction stages for everyone.
The Q Policy replaces the Professional Consultant’s Certificate, providing independent, quality-driven, expert oversight during the build process, which gives more peace of mind to your client.
Our policy provides no fault redress to policyholders, which removes the need to prove negligence and the costly legal fees associated with this.
The Q Policy for Open Market Residential properties covers the full sales value of the property unlike other warranties available, providing adequate insurance for homeowners which far exceeds any benefit they might get from a Professional Consultant’s Certificate. On refurbishments and conversions we also include the existing structure in cover.

The Technical Standards contained in our Technical Manual, set a practical guide to what we expect but this should in no way stifle creativity – our approach is not “by the book” but will adapt to suit the needs of each project.
